Medication Assistant Certification Course Coming January 2021

VPDC's new Medication Assistant Certification program is set to begin January 25, 2021!

Victory Professional Development Center is excited announce its new Medication Assistant Certification (MA-C) course beginning January 25, 2021! Our MA-C course will be offered through Bishop State Community College's Adult Education Program. This course has never been offered in the state of Alabama and we are excited to teach one of the first classes ever offered.


Medication Assistants are specially trained to administer medications under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They can work in a variety of settings including long-term care facilities, home health, assistant living, and urgent care settings. After completing the course requirements, the medical assistant is eligible to sit for the National Medication Aide Certification Exam (MACE).


This class will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for 6 weeks.

The MA-C course can be FREE for those who qualify for an income-based voucher. For those who do not qualify for the voucher and will be paying out of pocket, the MA-C course costs $800 with a $250 deposit to secure your placement.


Requirements to take this course include:

- At least 17 years old

- High school diploma/GED

- Valid driver's license

- Criminal/consumer background check

- Pass a drug screening

- Current CPR/BLS

- Good communication skills

- TB skin test
